where hope dignity and value exists for everyone
OUR STORY:
Arms of Love began in 2002 when Nadia & Natasha took a trip to the local juvenile detention center and met many young men living there.  Their stories were similar. They lived on the street because home was not a good place.  Abusive parents bound by drug or alcohol addiction forced these kids to fend for themselves.  They chose a life on the street and in order to survive, petty theft, selling drugs and other crime brought them to into the juvenile system.
With the desire to impact the life of these kids before they ended in the juvenile system, Nadia & Natasha began a safe house. They rented an apartment in the city where these kids were able to come during the week. They had a place to get clean, take a shower, have a home cooked meal, get minor medial attention and have someone invest into their life.  Through this practical service and mentorship, many kids chose the right paths in life.

Over the years Natasha would see young girls coming to the safe house pregnant. She would wonder where they ended up and prayed they were safe. One day she received an invitation to come see where these young kids lived. They were down in the sewer system of the city where hot water ran through pipes underground. As she began to climb down into that dark damp space, the concern crossed her mind of her own safety. As she walked through that sewer system, she spotted that young girl and her newborn baby. Living there in that dark damp hole. In that moment her heart broke for them and she knew something had to change.
In 2008, Natasha purchased a house and turned it into a women crisis center.  She began accepting women and babies to come and live there. The program ran from 3-12months for each woman. The goal was to reinstate her into a healthy lifestyle. Teach her how to mother her children. Give her a chance at a career.  Up-to-date over 300 women have gone through this crisis center. 97% of the women don’t return. They are successfully living and providing for their families.
This inspired Arms of Love to buy another house and turn it into a transition home. The home provides temporary living and mentorship to young men. The requirement is that the boys work or go to school. They pay a small amount for rent. A family lives on the property and provides a stable example of a atomic family. The father works full time and helps the boys find work. They are encouraged to further their education and receive degrees towards a career path.

In 2017 a new need surfaced within the orphan boys. In Kyrgyzstan orphans are released at the age of 16. Many of them don’t know how to adapt to society, earn a living or provide for themselves. They often end up in the juvenile detention system or worse.
WHAT WE DO:

Children Safe House:
We have weekly gatherings where we accept homeless street kids. We feed them, give them basic medical attention. They can take a shower and wash their clothes. Our team builds relationships with them and begins to mentor them.
Women Crisis Center:
We accept women and babies for short term living. We help with medical care as needed. The women get assistance with receiving their government documents. They are given career options. They are given parenting course. They establish friendships and a community.
Orphan transition Center:
Our young men receive temporary living and mentorship. They have guidance to choose a career path or invest into education. They observe a health example of a family and often progress into successful lifestyle paths that lead to self sustained living.
Year-round Initiatives
Adopt a Village
We adopted a village near the garbage dump of Bishkek. Many people come to the dump to find recyclable material and earn a living that way.  We visit the village bringing gifts for the kids, Back to school supplies, Clothes and ice cream.
Christmas
We organize gift box deliveries to the local kids from impoverished communities. Many of these kids do not receive other gifts for Christmas. We have Christmas events with games and stories.
Heat for Homes
We organize a heat for homes initiative where we raise funds in order to keep families warm over the winter months.
Some homes need coal, electricity and gas.

Food Hampers
We have many families that need assistance with basic supplies including food. Our teams deliver bags of food to help starving families get through difficult seasons in their life.
Back to School Support
We deliver back to school supplies to kids in our adopted villages. Many of them would not otherwise have the most basic school supplies.
Summer Camp
Each year we have a fun filled camp adventure for the kids in our city. We take them to the mountains for a week filled with adventure, games, food and life impacting friendships. The leaders that help us with this event come from all over the world and impart wisdom and mentorship into these kids.
Fitness Center
The orphan transition center has a gymnasium facility on the property. Every week young local kids gather there and learn about health and exercise, nutrition, friendship. This initiative was inspired after a teen suicide in the community. Now young kids have a place to belong, have community and enjoy life.
Conference events
It’s our passion to equip and raise up leaders in Central Asia. Through conference events, we are able to connect people together, give them a greater purpose, help them find their voice and validate them as individuals.  Many were mentally exhausted and thought of self-harm, after attending our events, they found joy in life and began to live in a powerful meaningful way.
